Tokio Marine Malayan Insurance Co., Inc. then called Pan-Malayan Insurance Corporation, was founded on 27 March 1964, when three leading insurance companies from Japan, United States and the Philippines forged an agreement in answer to the Philippine Government's call to encourage foreign capital investment to enter the country.

The three insurance companies were Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., the biggest non-life insurance company in Japan; CNA Insurance (formerly Continental Insurance Company) from the United States and Malayan Insurance Co., Inc., the leading non-life insurance company in the Philippines.

For more than three decades, TMMICO has made substantial contributions to the economic growth of the country and has firmly established itself as a major player in the non-life insurance industry.

From the very successful, symbiotic partnership of Japanese and Filipino companies, Tokio Marine Malayan Insurance Co., Inc. today stands as one of the very progressive insurance companies in the country. The company is proud of being an affiliate of Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. the biggest non-life insurance company in Japan, and of the Malayan Group of Insurance Companies, the number 1 and the largest non-life insurance group in the Philippines.
